Jul 27, 2004 · It sounds as though if the injector pump is going bad, there's a definite sign. The injector pump and transfer pump on my truck are original. The previous owner would tow up to 4 horses with it (I estimate to be about 8000 to 9000 lbs). I've never had a starting problem, bucking, etc. My first mod will be to replace the transfer pump with FASS.

The low pressure pump feeds the high pressure pump which feeds the injectors. It could be electrical but once again, the high pressure pump ran dry and most likely has damage internally. What was the original failure and did you do electrical checks before taking everything apart.
